For your benefit, please take reasonable precautions to ensure the security of your property so that no further damage is caused. These actions are also part of your obligations as an insured. Any expenses you incur for a covered loss may be considered part of your claim, so please retain your receipts for any temporary repairs made. In the event of a Water-related loss, it may be advisable to:

  • Turn off the main water supply to the property
  • Remove standing water from the property
  • Remove wet carpet, drywall, and wet insulation
  • Set fans out to assist in drying the water
  • Save damaged items, such as the broken pipe for the adjuster
  • Take photos of the damage
  • Obtain an estimate from a trusted contractor

In the event of a Vandalism or Theft loss, it may be advisable to:

  • Board and secure the property
  • File a police report
  • Take photos of the damage
  • Obtain an estimate from a trusted contractor

In the event of a Wind/ Hail loss, it may be advisable to:

  • Cover any areas on the roof or siding that are exposed with a tarp
  • Take photos of the damage
  • Obtain an estimate from a trusted contractor

In the event of a Fire loss, it may be advisable to: 

  • Cover any areas that are exposed with a tarp or board and secure the property
  • File a fire report
  • Take photos of the damage
  • Obtain an estimate from a trusted contractor
